Support and FAQ

FolioRecast converts PDFs with extractable text to DOCX. Learn how to use it, what it supports and where results are saved.

How do I convert a file?

Choose a PDF, select the Word tab and press Convert. When it finishes, preview the DOCX and export it with Save Word As or system sharing.

Are my documents uploaded?

Conversion runs on your device. Documents are not uploaded to a developer-operated conversion server. iCloud, another file provider or a sharing destination may sync files according to its settings.

Can I convert scans?

OCR is not included. Image-only scans without extractable text, and text inside images, do not become editable text.

Can I edit Word documents in the app?

The app converts, previews and exports. Edit the exported DOCX in a compatible word processor.

Where is the result saved?

The result is initially saved inside the app. On iPhone/iPad, use the preview controls to save or share. On Mac, choose File → Save Word As… (Shift-Command-S).

Does removing a recent entry delete files?

No. It hides the entry in Recents; original PDFs and internally converted documents remain.

Are there file limits?

The app processes one document at a time, up to 50 MiB and 2,000 pages. Complex pages may require more memory and time.

Why can the layout change?

PDF and Word use different layout systems. Complex tables, fonts, images and page breaks can change. Review the result before using or sharing it.
